Americas Second Harvest of the Big Bend Inc

In the coming weeks we are launching our Harvest for Hunger campaign in preparation for the surge of need our pantries experience when school lets out for the summer.

As hard as it is to imagine, a great many of our neighbors have to carry on through the course of their daily lives with little to sometimes no food at all.  Even the smallest of activities can seem insurmountable to someone not getting the proper nutrition.  Parents and older siblings often sacrifice their portions to feed younger members of the family, leaving the older members tired, listless, and at times feeling hopeless. 

With Summer around the corner, we are concerned about the needs of our neighbors and their children who will not have the guarantee of a free breakfast and lunch while in school. 

That’s why we are planning to distribute even more food to our 145+ partner agencies – so they can help hungry children, families and seniors put meals, including more fresh produce on their table this Summer. 

In spite of this challenge, we are committed to helping end hunger in the Big Bend, and to easing the burden of those in need.

That’s why we need your help.

We must raise thousands of dollars by May 10, and I’m asking you to please consider making a significant gift before then.
