Seattle Bach Choir

A nonprofit organization

Mission

The mission of the Seattle Bach Choir is to present professional-level choral performances for the enrichment and enjoyment of the community at large.

Description

The Seattle Bach Choir is an auditioned ensemble of volunteer singers. We strive to support choral repertoire that inspires audiences and challenges personnel. Although the original intent was to focus on the music of the Baroque composers, especially J. S. Bach, our repertoire has expanded to include music from the Renaissance to the present day. Under the direction of Dr. Daniel Mahraun we present several concerts each year. This year it has been necessary that these be virtual concerts. We support outreach programming, including collaboration with other choral organizations to increase audience appreciation for choral music. We have also participated in the choral Sing-Along program at the Folklife Festival at Seattle Center giving others an opportunity to sing this music. To augment the training of young people pursuing a career as a music director we have had intern music directors to work with us.
