Scientific Committee on Oceanic Research

SCOR is an international non-governmental non-profit organization focused on promoting international cooperation in planning and conducting oceanographic research, and solving methodological and conceptual problems to advance all areas of ocean science. 

SCOR also conducts several different activities to develop capacity for ocean science in developing countries.  The focus has primarily been on helping individual scientists from developing countries to be involved in SCOR activities and to network with scientists from developed countries through a variety of programs including fellowships, visiting scholars, travel grants and others. SCOR sponsors large scale research projects and international working groups, all of which include members from developing countries.
