The National Capital Radio and Television Museum

A nonprofit organization

Have you ever wondered how your cell phone works?  Well our knowledgeable guides can help you understand the evolution of the technology that lead to the develop of the transistor and later the microchip.  At the NCRTV Museum you will get to see early kit radios, better known as crystal radios, one of the earliest remote controls, a radio the also would print your newspaper and a 1931 Scanning Disc, one of the earliest televisions.  Along the way you get to learn morse code, still used to day in ham radio and military applications, and learn how those fabulous sound effects heard on old radio programs were created.  Lots of opportunities for hands-on fun. Please help us build our STEM-based educational programs to reach a broader audience.  We cannot do it without you!   Thank you.
