WHO WE ARE:
The RCHSBBA is an all-volunteer group that was established in January 2006 as a 501(c)3 (EIN - 20-3083038).
OUR MISSION:
This year the band has been very busy.
We have competed in many band competitions around the state and placed in many of these events.
The band performed at most of the high school football games halftime shows.
Their Fall, Winter & Spring Concert was a huge success and we can't wait till next year to perform on stage again.
We were also able to attend Temple University and performed at their university at a clinician and participated in their masterclasses.
We also had the amazing opportunity to perform on Easter Sunday at the Richmond International Speedway in front of fans.
Our goal is to raise money for some new instruments for the many students that have shown interest over the last year to either learn a new instrument or the rising students.
~ A $200 donation will pay for one band competition.
~ A $50 donation will pay for one pair of shoes.
We thank you for your generosity and support of the RCHS Panther Band!
"The Band program at Rappahannock County High School continues to thrive thanks to the exceptional efforts and dedication of the Rappahannock County High School Band Boosters. The support of parents and community members is vital to the success of our program, and the fine arts education that our students receive is elevated in no doubt due to said support. The success and future of our Band program is in large part bolstered by this amazing support network, providing our students with a plethora of musical experiences and opportunities." ~Ms. Breanna Leach, Director of Bands
"From the very beginning of my time in band, I knew that this program was special. There is a certain comradery, friendship, and amazing experiences that band provides that can not be found anywhere else. While in band at RCHS, I learned the importance of good work ethic, teamwork, and dedication. That, alongside the challenges that come with playing music in high school, has shown me that school is indeed a place where you can grow not only as a student but also as a person!
It is wonderful that RCHS has kept the band program going, especially during this pandemic because the skills that band students learn are essential. Also, music provides a unique escape from the world around us and let's us work together to make something special while also becoming better people.
I have had so much fun being in band, from halftime shows to competitions. I will never forget what I learned and everyone that helped me get to where I am today." ~ Agustin Garcia, Drum Captain, Class of 2021
