MISSION

The challenges facing the world today are far-reaching and complex, and the solutions often feel out of reach. To tackle society’s greatest challenges and build a better future, we must engage a wide range of people to make a positive difference in the world. Now more than ever, people are looking within themselves to find the inspiration, creativity, and sustained energy to make change. The key to unlocking the light within us is to ensure that people feel empowered to act on their unique desire to stand up and say, "I can help."

The Points of Light mission is to inspire, equip and mobilize people  to take action that changes the world. We envision a world in which everyone discovers the power to making a difference.  

We strengthen communities by creating connections between nonprofits, corporations and individuals, so that together we can address the world’s changing needs. Our global community provides more invitations to act, so that civic life can be activated at work, online, in stores, on the ground and via donations. We advocate for more integrated societal norms, policies and infrastructure that support each individual’s ability to do good. 

PROGRAMS

Points of Light is the world's largest organization dedicated to volunteer service. Our global community cannot flourish without a shared vision of what's possible, and processes that are coordinated, efficient and inclusive. We're committed to providing the tools, insights and connections needed to ensure the social sector continues to grow and innovate in this rapidly changing world.

Using the collective experience of organizations around the globe, we create products and services that make volunteerism more accessible, inclusive and effective. In order to push civic engagement to new heights, we need ongoing insights. Points of Light coordinates and shares research to encourage evidence-based actions.  We connect great minds and awaken communities, so that together we can evolve to address the world's changing needs.
