Mission Plasticos is dedicated to improving lives through reconstructive plastic surgery in the United States and worldwide. By performing surgery free of charge for underserved individuals with traumatic injuries, disfigurement as a result of cancer and congenital deformities, our volunteer medical teams alleviate suffering, both physical and emotional. Additionally, to multiply impact, Mission Plasticos surgeons train host-country doctors to perform complex reconstructive surgical procedures, to achieve self-sufficiency.

Since 1999, Mission Plasticos has been dedicated to providing reconstructive surgery to those in need, training local medical professionals, and supporting ongoing research focused on improving standards of care around the world and in our own backyard. Our board-certified volunteer surgeons and medical teams provide surgery to underserved men, women and children with traumatic injuries, acute burns, disfigurement as a result of burn contractures, reconstructive breast surgery for post-mastectomy women, congenital birth deformities and other reconstructive surgical care at no cost to patients. All patients fall below the poverty line, 70% are female and 30% male, with an age range of 18-60.   Over the past 25 years, Mission Plasticos has completed more than 90 missions in 17 countries, trained over 6,000 doctors, and treated over 15,500 patients.  Unlike other relief surgical care organizations, Mission Plasticos' holds tight to our vision of Treat, Train and Transform. Our volunteer medical professionals dedicate their time, talent, and care to transform lives in medically underserved communities through not only reconstructive care but advanced training for local doctors to become more self-sufficient, transforming their communities in the process. Locally, we have developed partnerships here in Southern California to help provide up and coming medical professionals at UCLA's School of Plastic Surgery and nursing schools throughout our region with unique training in pre and post operative care, nipple reconstruction and tattoo restoration, closing the chapter on a very long journey of Breast Cancer for many uninsured or underinsured women. Locally we serve on average 400 patients in need a year!
