As our programs continue to shift format, our mission remains the same: To provide vital safety net services & end homelessness in the North Tahoe - Truckee region, one person at a time. Recently North Tahoe - Truckee Homeless Services (NTTHS) faced a housing crisis of its own. After our lease expired we were unable to secure a physical space to continue providing direct services. In response, we transitioned to an Outreach Model in August 2024, ensuring that we continue to fill the gap in safety net services for our unhoused and underhoused neighbors through these vital programs: .
* Street Outreach
* Case Management
* Housing Services
In 2023/2024, North Tahoe-Truckee Homeless Services:
Served 326 clients
Housed 18 clients

History: This grass roots community effort began in 2014 and has grown each year to fill a void in safety net and housing supports for our unhoused and under-housed neighbors. In November 2020 our Emergency Warming Center program was absorbed into AMI Housing Inc who created North Tahoe Truckee Homeless Services. This partnership was a huge step towards longer term stability and gave us the structure and ability to access to federal funding to help sustain these vital supports during COVID and move towards the larger goal of preventing and ending homelessness in the North Tahoe Truckee region.
Since COVID funding ended, the task has been to engage regional support to create "right size", sustainable safety nets for this region. The Tahoe Truckee Homeless Advisory Committee (TT HAC), has been working to create a Regional Homelessness Action Plan which we hope to have finalized by the end of 2024. We hope this plan will be a key to regional partnership to create a sustainable continuum of services in this region.
