NHSB was founded in 1970 with the mission to stabilize urban neighborhoods in the city of Birmingham and surrounding areas by offering programs and services which enable families to achieve financial success.

We believe strong neighborhoods are the backbone of strong communities.  When our neighborhoods decline, we all suffer.  Our property values decline, crime increases, our schools deteriorate, and our local government loses tax revenue to address these issues.
