Our story begins, as many do, with a life-long love of animals.  The inspiration for the founding of My Angel Pets was the tragic loss of 2 family pets, Rocky and Sheila, last summer.  It was a devastating loss.   To fill the void, last August (2016) we adopted a one-year-old dog with a heart condition who no one wanted.  We named him Apollo.  He was so sweet and full of energy you would never know he had a heart condition.   He stole all of our hearts immediately.  He healed us.  His goofiness brought such joy and laughter.  Sadly, Apollo's condition was progressive and the vet told us that, for him to live a normal life, he would need surgery.  Otherwise, his days were numbered; 6 months to a year getting more sick and weak.  The thought of that was unbearable.   So we began a GoFundMe campaign and Apollo had the surgery in March.   Although a relatively simple procedure, Apollo did not survive due to complications.  The loss of Apollo was the final impetus to start My Angel Pets.  Although we only had him for 8 months, it was the best 8 months of his life.  In return, our hearts were healed by this dog with a "broke" heart who wanted nothing more than to be loved and accepted.   We want to do as much as we can to help others, animals and people, to heal and find acceptance; a home.
