Mentoring Mighty Minds

Mentoring Mighty Minds partners with school districts in Houston and other organizations in the surrounding area to reach a population that is in need of guidance and positive influences in at-risk communities. As we strive to “Bring out the Brilliance” of our youth, we emphasize the steady and confident mindset that their current situation is not the totality of their existence. We strive to reach young African-American males across the city in efforts to heighten the level of academic and social interaction among our special demographic. We emphasize the importance of excelling in school as well as improving the social skills necessary to maintain a productive and healthy lifestyle. In addition to academic services, we provide activities that promote social and emotional learning skills (SEL) such as our participation in the already successful afterschool 21st Century program, STEAM, chess clubs, mental health seminars, retreats, and volunteering opportunities in the community.
