Shut down in 1990, The Ohio State Reformatory has become a world-renowned tourist attraction, on a continuing journey of restoration and rehabilitation. While we work to bring Levi T. Scofield's epic design back to its original glory, we continue to educate the public about the history of the building. We offer three museums inside our building - the Ohio Corrections Museum, the Shawshank Museum, and the North Central Ohio Industrial Museum - all three are included in the price of tour admission. 

Through private and public educational tours, ghost hunts, escape room experiences, rock concerts, haunted houses, corporate events, music videos, movies, and more, OSR brought 170,000 guests through its gates in 2023. Our varied programming offers something for everyone so local guests and tourists alike can come experience the history, redemption, and legacy of the Ohio State Reformatory.

This year, we're seeking donations to go towards our Capital Improvement Fund. Although we've made fabulous progress over the past 30 years, there is much more to accomplish. Over the next 10 years, we will be focusing on some large-scale improvements that are necessary to ensure the Reformatory and its legacy stand for years to come.
