Light the World, Inc.

Light the World is the brain child of Mark Dudzinski, who spent 27 years at GE advancing all the way to the role of Chief Marketing Officer for GE Energy. While traveling the world he discovered that energy poverty is a global reality, all the while working with, developing and applying new energy generation and related technology. He came to the conclusion that there is a better way of getting electricity to those who need it.

Upon retirement he decided to ask his family if they would be willing to put in the time and resources towards decreasing energy poverty. I am very proud to say that everyone is very excited about Light the World; I (Mark’s son) even left my job at CBS in Charlotte, NC to move back into my parents’ house so we can make Light the World work.  Our united family has come up with a unique innovative solution that is deployable for close to 3% of the cost using traditional methods.  

The solution to energy poverty is focused on renewable green energy and DC power. These systems are optimized for costs and easy to install because they do not require any specialized or advanced tools/training.  Instead of charging for the systems we are going to give them to the utilities that service extremely poor regions. These systems will be installed and maintained those local utilities; currently we are in talks with two; one in Tanzania and one in the Philippines’.

All the energy and utility professionals we have spoken to are extremely excited about our solution, and agree that this change in the electric utility model could cause a paradigm shift in the industry. This being said we do need help raising the funds to create a prototype test set so we can demonstrate the real world usability of the DC mini-grid solution.
