Lees Place Inc

A nonprofit organization

Lee’s Place was founded in 2000 by Dr. Brenda Rabalais following the death of her 14 year old son, Lee, to bone cancer. Dr. Rabalais created a safe, nurturing counseling center for anyone suffering any type of loss or life changing event. Lee’s Place therapists are licensed and trained in grief, loss, and trauma. They help clients learn to integrate loss into their lives and assist them to become engaged and productive members of the community.

All therapy serviceas are offered on a sliding fee scale to ensure everyone can get the help they need when they need it, and finances or insurance are not barriers to feeling whole and healthy again. Two wonderful examples of how donations directly help people at Lee's Place are shown in these client quotes:

"After leaving my husband Lee's Place helped me understand domestic violence, work through my divorce and his prison time and I came out the other side a better mother, a stronger woman and my confidence builds each day from each session. The work they have helped me with there is no words or amount of money to compare, it truly saved my life and helped my family when they didn't know how to help me."

Another recent client states: " I wish to thank Lee's Place for teaching me how to live after my wife passed away. I was so overcome with grief I had given up the will to go forward. The therapy I received taught me that life has changed but can be rewarding in many other ways. The therapist I had was very kind-hearted and was very interested in me and my recovery. Thank you from the bottom of my heart."
