Long Beach Community Action Partnership

Long Beach Community Action Partnership provides dynamic pathways to self-sustainability for individuals and families living in low-income households through a variety of programs.  We recently celebrated 45 years of service to Long Beach and the surrounding communities in Eastern Los Angeles County.

The Energy Program provides utility payment assistance for gas or electric bills to families that income-qualify. We also offer basic home repair services for homes or apartments that can make them more energy efficient. With our collaborative partners, community resources, and strength-based leadership, we coordinate and mobilize comprehensive training and technical assistance vital to building and sustaining an enriched community.

LBCAP's Youth program provides art-focused mentoring and leadership development for high school students and young adults. Offered multiple times a year, youth can focus on disciplines such as music production, graphic design, photography, and film/video production.

VITA Tax Assistance program provides free tax-services in Long Beach to households that income-qualify. Our tax program is offered year-round and specializes in complex tax returns.

PADNET, Long Beach Public Access Television station allows residents to create media content that is reflective of their community and to have a voice in the community. We have a studio and edit suites on site and teach classes to the community as well.

Lastly, LBCAP has the capacity to respond to immediate community needs by providing financial support to partnering non-profit organizations. These grant opportunities assist local agencies by expanding and enhancing their program services. Most recently, to lessen the financial burden of the COVID-19 pandemic, LBCAP provided grocery vouchers, rental assistance, supported local food distributions, and funded a community kitchen.
