It is the mission of Latina Leaders of Kern County to foster leadership, identify and develop opportunities for Latinas, and to influence key issues affecting our community. We are passionate about continuously looking for opportunities that develop and support Latina Leadership. It is our philosophy to be committed, open minded, and inclusive.

With a grassroots effort of local Latina women and a long history in the community, LLKC has grown its organization to include various programs, activities, and events that promote the Latina woman. From mentoring to education, to career networking or political involvement, we have something amazing for every stage or passion of your life.

Our Youth Leadership Program is our pride and joy. This program requires a full commitment from highschool young ladies to learn from their peers, and adult leaders, by participating in a series of workshops designed to prepare them for life choices.  The young ladies are exposed to an array of topics: how to work in teams, college admissions/requirements/application,  goal setting, and community engagement. They also take a trip to a University campus. Overall, the participants learn about themselves, their community, and the role they play in it. It is definitely a once in a lifetime experience.
