Founded in 1962, KAFLA is proud to be recognized as a 2024 Top 100 California Nonprofit and 2022 California Nonprofit of the Year. Our mission is to represent and empower the Korean American community of Los Angeles County.

Every year, we serve over 40,000 residents through our core services, which include:

IMPACT

  • LA Wildfire Relief Fund & Recovery
    • Raised & distributed $226,850, ensuring that every dollar raised went directly to wildfire victims
    • Distributed 100,000 masks, several hundred blankets & 1,400 pairs of socks
    • Distributed 500 bags of food to those impacted by the Hurst Fire
    • Provide rapid recovery aid for affected residents through town hall sessions & legal aid clinics, offering crucial information & resources
  • Stopping Hate, Building Resilience through 
    • Outreach & Navigation Assistance
    • Bystander & Survivor Training
    • Peace Mural
  • Multilingual One-Stop Center providing social services and multilingual access to benefits & financial aid
  • Korean Language Interpreter Program at the LAPD Olympic Station bridges communication gaps & ensures Korean-speaking residents receive the support they need, particularly in moments of crisis.
  • Our 2024-2025 International Youth Exchange Program for high school students from the United States, South Korea, and China promotes cultural understanding, global engagement & the development of future leaders.
  • Building Stronger Communities & Advocating for Justice by fostering partnerships & strengthening inter-community relationships to advocate for policies promoting public safety, language access, equity, and work towards racial justice for victims of hate crimes.
