Just Fare Community Kitchen, a fiscally sponsored non-profit project of 18 Reasons, contributes to ending food insecurity by making dignified meals to feed the East Bay community. We envision a world where everyone achieves food sovereignty through equitable access to dignified and responsibly sourced food.

By partnering with a network of hyper-local Community Based Organizations (CBOs), we are able to get our food into the hands of people that traditional aid may not reach. Community Kitchen meals are made using the same standards as our Workplace and Events menus: prioritizing locally grown, organic ingredients from womxn- and BIPOC-owned, independent farms.

It is estimated that one in four residents in Alameda County is experiencing or at-risk of hunger, with BIPOC communities suffering the greatest disparity. Beyond that, the traditional resources that do exist are often inaccessible and less than dignified. With our fundraiser A Meal a Month, a recurring $10 monthly donation will go directly to providing someone local in need with a nourishing, responsibly sourced, and dignified meal. You can make a difference with less than 33 cents a day.
