The mission of Junior Achievement (JA) is to ensure that every area child has a fundamental understanding of our economic system and their role in it.  We educate and inspire young people to value free enterprise, empowering them to succeed in the 21st century global marketplace.  We offer a full range of integrated and sequential economic education courses to students in grades K through 12.

Junior Achievement is a volunteer driven, non-profit 501c3 charitable organization.  Not only is the organization guided by an active volunteer Board of Directors, but virtually all the educational services we provide are delivered by volunteers.  Interactive classes are presented by volunteers from the local community, who have been recruited and trained by JA staff. They instruct young people in the basics of financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and work readiness.

To thrive in today’s globally competitive marketplace, our children must excel in the skills needed by tomorrow’s workers, entrepreneurs and consumers.  Young people need the knowledge, values and skills that will prepare them to be smart and careful consumers, reliable workers, innovative business persons and entrepreneurs.  Communities need citizens with these qualities too.  They need an educated and dependable workforce, stable families, knowledgeable consumers, and involved individuals who will take an interest, and make an investment, in the future of their community.
