Islamic Society of Greater Salt Lake

Khadeeja Cemetery, is the project of Islamic Society of Greater Salt Lake. Muslims in the valley have to pay for every burial plot and then more for the actual burial cost which is approximately $4,500. Khadeeja Cemetery project started when a brother donated land to Islamic Society for the Cemetery purpose only. Another Muslim brother donated additional land buying the houses right next to it. With the help of these two generous donors we have acquired approximately 1.6 acres right next to the Khadeeja Masjid, the largest mosque in Utah. 

The lowest bid for the development on this land for the Cemetery was $3,29,000 that the 'Executive Committee', 'Board of Directors' and 'Trust' of the Islamic Society approved. In addition to the above amount of the bid there are additional $90,000 required for getting the water, electricity , other utilities permits, Engineering department and Architect fees etc. 

We have to make payments every weeks as the project is progressing. We still need $2,80,000 to pay the contractor when the project completes, in a month, inshaAllah. We request everyone to donate and get the best reward at the day of judgement. inshaAllah.

We have more than 2,600 burial plots in the new Cemetery. With the completion of this project, Muslims in Utah will save more than 6 million dollars.
