The Idaho FFA Foundation provides financial support to Idaho FFA Association leadership and career development activities helping Idaho FFA members grow and succeed. When you make a gift to the Idaho FFA Foundation, you are investing in the future of agriculture through today’s students who will be the tomorrow’s agriculture industry leaders.

With the world population of over 7 billion expected to near 10 billion by the year 2050, every facet of agriculture must grow to meet the increasing demands for the world’s food supply. FFA members are students who love agriculture and are passionate about leading the next generation in creating solutions for a better agriculture industry and world.

Established in 1980, the Idaho FFA Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and gives individuals, companies, and organizations the opportunity to provide financial resources and cooperation in support of Idaho FFA and agriculture education programs.

IDAHO FFA:

FFA has been an integral part of agricultural education in Idaho high schools since 1929, currently with nearly 12,000 Idaho agricultural education and technology students, 89 active chartered Idaho FFA chapters, and over 4,200 Idaho FFA members.

FFA has provided a formal structure for thousands of members over the years to acquire leadership and public speaking skills, and learn the importance of goal setting, the value of hard work, honesty and community service. The torch of leadership that FFA ignites in young people lasts a lifetime. Many of our current leaders in education, business, agriculture and government got their start in FFA.

Today's high school agriculture programs reflect the transformation that has taken place in the agriculture industry. Courses in agriscience, marketing, communications, horticulture, agricultural mechanics and welding complement instruction in animal, plant and food sciences. Whether a student is planning on a college education or going directly into the job market, the training and experience afforded through agricultural education and the FFA give them a valuable edge in todays competitive environment.

School-based agricultural education is a systematic, integrated program encompassing three core components: 1) classroom and laboratory instruction, 2) supervised agricultural experience, and 3) participation in FFA programs and activities.

FFA and agricultural education are part of "Career and Technical Education" (CTE), also known as Professional Technical Education (PTE) in Idaho, that promotes academic achievement, personal skill development and career preparation through hands-on instruction and student organization activities.

In addition, the "Go to College" rate for PTE completers in Idaho in 63% compared to only 47% for state general education completers.

Agriculture education is a proven, effective contributor to leadership development and career readiness skills through project and problem solving based learning opportunities.
