For 42 years, Hispanic Unity of Florida (HUF) has helped to empower immigrants and others to become self-sufficient, productive and civically engaged.

HUF's programs create a cycle of growth and prosperity so our clients can thrive independently and contribute back to their neighborhoods.

We serve people like:

• Yesenia, who moved to the U.S. with a vision to launch a balloon decoration company. By participating in our Emerging Entrepreneurs program, she developed a business plan and grew her client-base from friends and family to local companies. She now has a thriving business!
• Samarah, a student in our Unity 4Teens after-school program at a local high school. Once timid and uncertain about her future plans, she grew her confidence by working with her success coach. Since then, she received a scholarship to a national conference and now has plans to pursue higher education after graduating!
• Juan, who joined our Job Readiness Program, where he received help to update his resume and enroll in HUF's English classes. Shortly thereafter, John secured a stable job with steady income.

HUF aims not only to help people like Yesenia, Samarah, and Juan, but also their family members. We help clients navigate: opening up a bank account and building credit, applying for healthcare, learning about pathways to homeownership, and passing the citizenship exam. Over 33,000 people –from preschoolers to adults– received services in Spanish, English, Haitian Creole, or Portuguese last year.

Our mission is to go beyond providing immediate relief. We aim to see every person we serve achieve stability so multiple generations of their family can succeed – the same dream that our first clients had in 1982 when they newly arrived in the U.S.
