OUR MISSION:
TO SECURE LOVING AND STABLE HOMES FOR DOGS AND CATS
AT RISK OF BEING LOST IN THE SHELTER SYSTEM

When 10-year-old Kendall Stevens wrote about her dream of opening an animal rescue called Hearts Alive Village, her mom Christy was determined to make her dream come true. They began with programs to bring relief to pets in need.  A pet food pantry called Kendall's Kupboard was created and has since distributed tons of kibble plus supplies to hungry pets.

Hearts Alive Village has been operating in Las Vegas since 2013. We are an animal rescue supporting dogs and cats of all breeds, but we are so much more. To date, we have rescued and rehomed 5,600+ animals. This doesn't even take into account the thousands of pets who have been able to stay with their loving families because of our community support programs.  

These community support programs keep families together. Our Pet Food Pantry, Kendall's Kupboard, feeds approximately 1,000 pets in homes each month. Their parents are seniors, veterans, low-income, and many many people who have been financially devastated because of COVID. Without us, they would be forced to give up their animals, losing their support system during the most difficult time in history. In addition to our pet food pantry, we have opened the first nonprofit, full-service, affordable veterinary clinic in the state. 

When people can't afford veterinary care for their animals (which many can't, especially now), they are forced to make a horrible decision: surrender their animal to the shelter in the hopes that they receive treatment (they will not), watch them suffer, or economically euthanize them to end their suffering. It's heartbreaking and unnecessary. We are making it possible for them to get their babies the care they deserve. 

Our clinic also houses the Hearts Alive Village ReTreat which provides a safe space for dogs and cats who are waiting to be adopted. Some are just waiting for the right family to come along while others are receiving medical treatment or undergoing behavioral training because they've suffered some trauma in their lives.
