UNITED IN PURPOSE

Heart of Missouri United Way is working to create a healthy community, expand youth opportunity, create financial security, and build community resiliency. Heart of Missouri United Way invests in programs, services, and efforts that improve the lives of more than 33,000 mid-Missourians.

UNITED IN PURPOSE

In 2024, Heart of Missouri United Way proudly funds 37 grants across 25 agencies, operates the Give 5 program to match retired residents with non-profit volunteer opportunities, administers the ASPIRES project in partnership with the City of Columbia to improve non-profit capacity building efforts throughout the non-profit sector, and serves as a collaborator alongside other mid-Missouri agencies to improve the lives of those with unmet needs. 

UNITED IN IMPACT

Of those served and assessed in programs that received United Way funding in 2023, 90% increased healthy behaviors, 89% graduated high school on time, and 70% gained employment. The Read Across Columbia program successfully impacts literacy and third grade reading proficiency by providing 650 public school students with a bookbag containing four hardback books to own and read at home.
