Georgia Interfaith Power and Light (GIPL) engages communities of faith in stewardship of Sacred Earth as a religious response to global climate change, resource depletion, environmental injustice, and pollution.

Green Teams (three or more individuals dedicated to advancing sustainability and environmental action in their community) are the heartbeat of our work! Through individualized coaching and education, GIPL mobilizes Green Teams to implement practical climate solutions and advocate for policies that protect people and the planet.

Working in partnership with Drawdown GA, we support faith communities in cutting carbon emissions through our Power-Wise, Solar-Wise, Zero-Waste, EV Charging, and Water-Wise programs. These programs include resources, education, and substantive funding.

We also educate and equip communities of faith to vote, contact their legislators, and advocate for just policies. Current priorities include coal ash, biomass, energy burden, coastal resilience, and protecting Georgia's natural wonders including Blake Plateau and the Okefenokee Swamp.
