Founded in 1952, the Foundation for Blind Children (FBC) is rooted in a few early acts of courage from parents who wanted their children to access every opportunity life has to offer. Over seven decades later, FBC continues to champion their commitment to inclusion and access by serving people of all ages in Arizona living with any sort of visual impairment. 

Learning how to participate in the classroom, use assistive tech at work, or move confidently through the world with a visual impairment takes the right kind of support. FBC provides this kind of care every day, and your support is what keeps us going. When you give to FBC, you’re backing the small steps that lead to lifelong independence for every person touched by our work. 

What We Do: 

• Early Intervention: Our Early Intervention program offers developmental support and guidance to families with infants and toddlers who have visual impairments. 

• Pre K-12 Educational Services: Our center-based preschool classes are tailored to support children with visual impairments by providing focused instruction that builds early academic skills. 

• Youth Development Services: Our year-round programming supports teens and young adults with visual impairments in building essential skills for life after high school. 

• Adult and Senior Programs: Our Adult Comprehensive Training program empowers individuals with vision loss to live independently, re-enter the workforce, and thrive in daily life. 

• Statewide support and resources: We’re proud to be home to the nation’s largest prison braille program and home to the Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust Low Vision Clinic.
