Foundation for Animal Care and Education (FACE)

About FACE Foundation: Established in 2006 by a group of veterinarians and concerned community members, the Foundation for Animal Care and Education (FACE) is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) public charity that provides financial assistance for animal owners who are unable to afford the cost of their pet’s emergency or critical care. Our mission is to enhance and preserve the quality of life of companion animals by providing access to necessary medical care and education. 

Each year, many animals are brought to their veterinarian with life-threatening conditions. Sadly, many owners cannot afford the critical care their beloved pets need to survive. They are left with one choice—euthanasia. Thousands of treatable pets are euthanized in veterinary hospitals annually. The vision at FACE is to end economic euthanasia by creating a world where no family pet or service animal dies due to financial hardship. 

Our Impact: FACE proudly partners with more than 180 veterinary hospitals throughout San Diego County. To date, FACE has assisted more than 3,900 sick and injured animals through our Save-A-Life Program. The FACE Community Outreach Program, which provides pet food, supplies, and access to resources, served 4,423 recipients last year and is continuing to expand to reach more people and pets in need of assistance. FACE also provides free and low-cost humane educations classes for local youth through partnerships with schools, libraries, and other nonprofits.
