Faith Temple Church of God in Christ-Faith Christian Academy

As the first and only Protestant Christian school in Evanston, FCA, founded in 1980, served members in Evanston and its surrounding communities for more than two decades.  It was a great disappointment to parents and supporters alike when the school closed due to construction of the church and school.  2012 marks a new chapter in FCA’s history with the Academy reopening to students in Prekindergarten and Kindergarten with hopes to again be a fully functioning PreK-8 program. 

We strongly believe in training our children in the way they should go and have as the school's driving goal, Faith Ignited Through Christ-Centered Education.  We have some very exciting things planned for our students, including a rich music program taught by Grammy award winning songwriter Carlis Moody, Jr., foreign language, and a competitive curriculum with a focus on community service in order to raise our children in the service of God and man.  The Academy’s founders, Bishop Carlis and Mother Mary Moody, care deeply about our young people and have a passion for missions.  It is with that in mind that we are partnering with our sister schools in Haiti and South Africa to help diversify student learning through cultural exchanges.

Alumni of the Academy have gone on to become teachers, scientists, entrepreneurs, etc.  Notably, in a February 2012 article in the Evanston Sentinel, one proud alumnus declared that FCA had provided him with a solid foundation.  "Everything they did with us, even the memorization of scriptures developed in me study skills I still utilize today and I’m a senior in college.  Songs with lyrics like ‘I am a promise. I am a possibility…I am a great big bundle of potentiality’ empowered me.  I truly believe I can do all things.”  

So you see, we have a great deal of faith in this new undertaking, but we need the help of many to provide scholarships for students and their families.

Our goal is to have 200 people contribute $200 over the next 10 months.  You can make a one-time donation of $200 or you can donate $20 a month for the next 10 months.  This would help us to provide almost 8 scholarships.  Will you join us?
