Edward Kline Memorial Homeless Veterans Fund

A nonprofit organization

There are two words that should never be used in the same article, much less in the same sentence, and those words are Veteran and homelessness. We are passionately endeavoring to obliterate and expunge this disgraceful stain from the soul of our nation. Our goal is to make ourselves superfluous by ensuring that there are no homeless Veterans who need our assistance.

There are many reasons that Veterans are living in cars parked in the back corner of a church or shopping center parking lot, under a bridge near a highway, on a piece of cardboard on the streets of our city or in a homeless tent encampment. Of these reasons, none is acceptable.

We believe that any Veteran who has signed a blank check to the government of the United States of America for any amount up to and including their life and completed their contracted term of service honorably should not have to worry about a roof over their head, food on their table, a meaningful job, adequate healthcare or respect. They have earned all this and more.

Curing Veteran homelessness is the first to step to getting these heroes of our country back to self-sufficiency and reintegrating them into the gainfully employed civilian society.

In 1993, WWII veteran Ed Kline, one of the original founders of the Jewish War Veterans Post 64 NV, had a vision to provide housing for homeless veterans in Las Vegas. Ed recruited another member of the Post, WWII veteran Abe Efros, to help him achieve his dream. With passion and determination shown by both of these members, the Post authorized them to start this program. Starting with one room at a motel in downtown Las Vegas, the program expanded its ability to being able to accommodate up to eight homeless veterans at a time. In 2006 the Post partnered with the Salvation Army and has now served more than 2200 Veterans in need. In 2012, The Edward Kline Memorial Homeless Veterans Fund assumed operation of the Independence Day Program. Currently we are seeking public and private collaborative partners to help us expand the Independence Day Program to include Female Veterans and Veteran Families.

With the assistance of proud and patriotic Americans like yourself, we are able to provide emergency transitional housing for Veterans and Veteran Families in need. We are Veterans helping Veterans in Las Vegas and Southern Nevada.

Your compassion and generosity help homeless Veterans and their families get back on the path to independence and let them know that they have not been forgotten. Your donations give them the help they need during times of crisis.

The Edward Kline Memorial Homeless Veterans Fund is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization working in close cooperation with the Veterans Administration and other Veteran friendly organizations and is dedicated to providing a warm and safe refuge for homeless veterans and their families.

Thank you for considering a financial contribution to the Edward Kline Memorial Homeless Veterans Fund.
