Detroit Magic Child Development

Detroit Magic Child Development’s mission is to partner with parents, churches, schools, and other organizations to provide a nurturing environment within the community. We aim to provide programs that will build character and promote academic achievement among our youth. Additionally, we strive to enhance the self- esteem, emotional, social, cultural and physical development of our participants. Detroit Magic Child serves grades K- 12 by providing after school and summer enrichment programs. 

 These programs focus on improving children’s academic skills and offer sessions that focus on stem related subjects, reading, testing, and study habits. Ultimately, Detroit Magic Child is a stepping stone to prepare children for higher education and make them successful contributors to the community. To expand their opportunities, Detroit Magic offers a work alternative program for youth ages 14 - 17.  Through this program, children are exposed to life and trade skills in preparation for career opportunities. We also bring in mentors and professional trainers to teach our participants the necessary skills for internships and employment. Since the pandemic our youth and families have not been able to sustain their normal way of life and are limited to the resources that are much needed.
