The world of systems of care is changing rapidly right before our eyes. Now more than ever, we need to be thinking creatively about how we approach the important work of improving systems, services and supports.

The Children’s Mental Health Network is a national alliance between communities, practitioners, families, agencies, alumni of system of care communities, and individuals that seek to share information, keep in touch, advocate for children’s mental health issues, and offer experience-based consultation and education to those interested in promoting the concept of systems of care.

The strategies and theories that we promote come from a slightly different angle. For those of us who have been immersed in this work for the past 20 to 30 years, when we talk with each other about systems change there is much that does not need to be said in order to be understood. A head nod, a glance, a short reference comment is often all that is needed to convey a complex message. But, we find ourselves thinking – how do we convey the complexities of this work, the unspoken understanding, and the passion required and the vision necessary to think beyond a six-year grant in a way that current grantees end up owning and discovering the answers for themselves?

Our answer is this network. A collection of professionals, parents and young people from across the United States committed to finding solutions that work.
