Central Georgia CASA

A nonprofit organization

When a child enters foster care, their life is turned upside down.  Removed from all they have ever known and thrust into a new environment, children are often left without anyone they know or trust around to advocate for their needs and desires. This is where CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) comes in.

Judges appoint CASA to be the eyes, ears, and voice for children whose parents aren't there to do that for them. We attend every court hearing, communicate with the parents to encourage them to work their case plans, and visit the child at least once a month (though oftentimes more) to check in. We also make sure the child has needed referrals to counseling, daycare, tutoring, and more. We advocate for these kids each and every day, but to continue doing that, we need your help.

CASA is a 501(c)3 nonprofit, which means we rely on grants and donations to continue our operations. Any monetary donation you can give is greatly needed and appreciated. Be assured that your gift will go towards helping children achieve permanency in safe and loving homes.

CASA also relies on our network of fabulous volunteers to ensure that each child gets the attention he or she deserves. If you have a loving heart for children and just a little time to spare each month, consider volunteering with us! All Volunteer Advocates go through a rigorous training and are supervised by one of our Volunteer Coordinators, so volunteers are well-prepared for situations they may face and are never alone. Check out our website here to learn more about becoming a CASA Volunteer.

Central Georgia CASA serves Bibb, Peach, and Crawfound county. If you would like to talk to someone to learn more about our mission, email susanna.patterson@cgcasa.org or call (478) 238-6318.
