Understanding how to manage money and credit is an important life skill.

However, most teens don't receive adequate training, leading to financial mistakes that can be painful and expensive. In fact, the average student receives less than 3 hours of personal finance education before high school graduation.

Teens in our communities deserve better!

The Center for Financial Empowerment (CFE) teaches high school students the personal finance skills most adults learned by trial and error. By joining with us, you can pass along important life lessons about money to youth in our communities.

Join us in "A Community Thrives", a program supporting

community projects with grants up to $100,000.

Our project aims to bring our four-year, comprehensive Financial Capability training program to high schools in Southern California, after showing proven success with teens in our Southern Nevada communities.

Nevada students receiving this program improve their financial literacy test scores by 18% on average each year!

Riley M., a sophomore at Basic Academy High in Henderson, Nevada, said

"I learned a lot this year about setting SMART goals and spending well, but the best thing I learned was to pay myself first by saving a little each time I get paid. I don't want to be in a tough spot down the road and wish I had saved."

Your donation will help us meet a minimum fundraising goal required for the grant.

Funds from this campaign will be used to launch our Financial Capability program at Duarte High School, educating approx. 800 high school students each year with life-changing personal finance skills, and will also serve as the pilot model for other SoCal high schools.

Your gift will help prepare youth with healthy financial habits they'll use for life!
