Since 2007 Center for Adaptive Riding (CAR) has been serving individuals in northern Nevada and northern California who have special needs.  CAR continues to grow in response to the increased need for equine-assisted activities and therapies (EAAT) in our community.

Benefits of therapeutic riding and horsemanship include increased core strength, balance, coordination, flexibility, sensory integration, circulation, fine and gross motor function, confidence, independence and communication skills. EAAT has been proven beneficial for a variety of special needs, including autism, PTSD, stroke/CVA, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, Down syndrome, ADD/ADHD, traumatic brain injury, spinal injury, chromosomal disorders, developmental delay and socioemotional/behavioral issues.

It takes a lot of time and resources to provide quality care for our horses, including feeding, hoof trimming, trailering, veterinary care, training and housing.  Without our amazing equine partners, we wouldn't be where we are today.

We are an IRS designated 501c3 charitable community service organization, and are incorporated and registered in the state of Nevada. Your donations may be tax-deductible.

Support the Center for Adaptive Riding in continuing to provide excellence in equine-assisted activities and quality care to their horses by choosing a donation level that suits you.  Every dollar donated makes a difference in the lives of our participants, their families, our horses, staff and volunteers, and our community.

Thank you for your caring generosity!
