Mission

Our grants aim to improve the quality of life in our community for all. We support health, human services, arts and culture, environment, community development and service, education and training, recreation, and animal-related services.

Programs

The Austin Community Foundation manages more than 700 charitable funds, established by individual donors, corporations and non-profit agencies. Our job is to make these funds grow so that they can flow back into the community to support a wide range of charitable efforts, including grants and scholarships. In many of our funds, we work with the donors in making grant decisions. We call these "donor advised" funds. Other funds are granted by our Board of Governors. In addition, the Foundation receives general membership and memorial contributions, which we put into an unrestricted fund. This money is managed by the Board of Governors and channeled back into the community through a variety of philanthropic programs. The Austin Community Foundation's grants, whether from specific charitable funds or from the general fund, support health, human services, arts and culture, the environment, community development and community service, education and training, recreation, and animal-related services. The Austin Community Foundation is proud to serve as the bridge in our community between the remarkable people who want to give and the equally remarkable people who use those gifts to better all of our lives.
