Afghanistan Dental Relief Project Inc

Its no secret that afghanistan is a highly volatile country, 30 years of war has eliminated many of the essentials for basic living leaving the people without any support .Our mission is to improve the quality of life by providing free dental treatment and oral health education in a country with almost thirty million people without basic dental care. Any dental clinic is easily overwhelmed by the incredible demand for services. We see ourselves as a  stepping stone towards a sustainable future in afghanistan, where there is a chronic shortage of skilled workers especially in the female population. We offer training and education for locals in the provision of dental health services and employment for hygienists, assistants, technicians, dentists and groundskeepers. The majority of our staff are the sole income earners. Homeira, our 19 year old female dental assistant has been with us for a year after hearing about our program. She trained with us for 4 months  and has since been working to support her family of 7 who are living in one of Kabul's poorest neighbourhoods.We are dedicated to overcome the obstacles preventing these people from having access to professional dental care. Our project began in 2003 by one individual and is still maintained entirely on the generosity of individuals and volunteers, ANY contribution will help us reach this goal. All proceeds go directly towards supporting our centre operations. 'I saw many people dying because of their teeth; they could not access dental care because there was no dentist.
