Thanks for visiting our page!

We are here because the Sobrato Family Foundation and an anonymous donor are providing gift matches that combine to produce a 3:1 leverage for ACE!. So for every $1 raised, the donors will donate an additional $3! If we raise $30,000, we can reach our full match potential of $70,000! That will be $100,000 raised in total for our students.

WHY ACE?

When ACE says they are going after the highest-need communities, they mean it.  In the neighborhoods they serve, currently only 4% of the students graduate from college.

ACE educates the lowest performing students because they understand the potential of education to transform lives.

How ACE Works & Who They Serve

Students

ACE is unique among charter schools in that it targets and energetically recruits the lowest performing students (on average two years below grade level) in communities with high poverty and gang/crime rates:

  • 95% Low-Income Latino
  • Over 50% English Learner

Parent Involvement

  •  Deep engagement with families regarding expectations and student progress
  • Parents richly involved with the schools

Partnership

ACE is the first charter school organization in the region to partner with a public school district to identify and better serve underachieving students. The partnership includes:

  • Joint outreach to targeted high-need students/families
  • Co-location and joint professional development
  • Best practices collaboration

Learning

  •  Extended school day (equals 40+ extra school days per year)
  • Blended learning and personal learning plans for all students
  • Daily, weekly, and quarterly data analysis

Professional Development

  • Summer, quarterly, weekly, and daily development sessions
  • Master teacher/coach for all teachers
  • Data-driven personalized instruction

Future Plans

  • 3 new middle schools planned to open in 2014 and 2015
  • Partnerships with school districts to serve more high-need students and families

Challenges and Sustainability

  • ACE's three new middle schools each received $575,000 in competitive Federal start-up grants; some private fundraising is also needed until the new schools reach full enrollment in year 4.
  • ACE schools are designed to be self-sufficient on State per-student funding once schools are at full enrollment.
