A Foundation for Kids

2003 – 2013

A Foundation for Kids donated product and services valued at $19,500,000 to over 250 children’s charities and projects helping an estimated 950,000 children and their families in Southern California.

The focus of the organization is to provide support for abused and at risk children who are in and out of home care including group homes and foster homes.  The focus are includes all of Southern California with a particular focus on Riverside, San Bernardino, Los Angeles and Orange Counties. Support includes use of product, toys, consultation and training, event production and specific fundraising activities. 

In-Kind Donations – Through product donations from Skechers USA, Converse Shoes, LeapFrog, Avon, Unified Grocers, Carter’s, Dorel Juvenile Group, Infantino and Distribution Management Association member companies, A Foundation for Kids has donated $19,500,000 to over 250 children’s charities and projects.  Items donated include personal care items, food, clothing, shoes, toys, school supplies and infant products.

Children’s Events – Over a 9 year period, we have hosted and sponsored picnics, festivals, community events, and shopping days where over 250,000 have had the opportunity to enjoy themselves.

Easter Season – Supported 60 youth agencies by providing Easter baskets and gifts to 28,000 children.

Sporting Events – Has helped 6,400 children from 40 children’s agencies share the excitement of attending a professional sporting event, such as Los Angeles Dodgers, USC football and local hockey games.

Athletes for Kids – Working with professional athletes (retired and current) and coaches developing initiatives, projects and fundraising activities to serve at-risk children as well as in Seattle, San Francisco, Sacramento, Houston, Dallas, Pittsburgh and Southern California.

Feed the Need – From 2008 to 2011 donated over $5,000,000 in products including shoes, toys, games, school supplies, and food serving over 125,000 inner city children and their families in low-income communities.

Orphanages in Mexico – Through local church ministries and nonprofit organizations, supported 15 children’s orphanages in the border communities in Mexico providing clothing, food, toys, and personal care product on an ongoing basis.

Christmas for Kids – Over a nine-year period, helped make Christmas special for over 250,000 at-risk children through donations $13,000,000 in gifts.
