For nearly 30 years, Americana Community Center has been a home for Louisville’s immigrant, refugee, and local families — a place where people come together to learn, connect, and thrive. Our mission to bridge cultures and build community has never wavered, even in the face of unprecedented challenges. In 2024, when funding cuts threatened to close our doors, our community rallied. Through the SOS campaign, you helped raise over $200,000 in just a few months to keep Americana open. That generosity didn’t just preserve programs — it proved that Louisville is committed to being a city where all are truly welcomed.

Now, we are moving into a new chapter. Guided by our Board of Directors and Interim Executive Director, Americana is re-envisioning our service model to ensure the next 30 years — and beyond. While we made painful but necessary cuts, including pausing our summer youth program for 2025, we remain committed to offering high-quality, efficient services that meet community needs. This year, we aim to support 225 youth through our after-school program, provide Coaching, Crisis Case Management, and Counseling to up to 60 families, and continue vital programs like Fiberworks, VITA tax preparation, and computer classes. At the same time, we are expanding campus partnerships to include new services such as family recovery support, workforce development certifications, and community-based leadership initiatives. These collaborations allow us to do more with less, ensuring that families have access to the tools they need to thrive.

The nonprofit landscape is rapidly changing at both the state and federal level, and we can no longer rely on grants alone to sustain us. That is why community support matters now more than ever. Your gift helps launch Americana into a sustainable future — one built on collaboration, resilience, and the belief that everyone deserves a place to belong. Together, we can ensure Americana not only survives but thrives, continuing to be a vital hub for thousands of families in the years to come.
