Each morning as I prepare my eight-year-old daughter for school, I pack her lunch and try to find a simple quote or saying that she will find on the bottom of her lunch box that will hopefully resonate and make her feel strong and intelligent, encourage her to give effort, make mistakes, and show kindness and gratitude.  Every child should have the opportunity to have a quality education and the confidence to achieve any goal.  My husband Ed and I value our community and wake up each day feeling blessed to be raising our children in Bloomington.  Being local business owners, we have seen first-hand from our staff the stress involved in finding quality education and childcare while sustaining a full-time job.  

We have dedicated ourselves by engaging in programs within our community and the Thrive by Five Campaign is the perfect program for us to reach out to our community to invest in education--education to those who will one day be sitting next to our kids in class and applying for jobs within our business and who will be the future of this community.  An investment in our children's education is an investment that will be given without regret.

Funding will be used to increase access to high-quality education especially for at-risk children and low-income families, improve quality of programs, cultivate family engagement and community partnerships, develop training opportunities for educators, and provide required community matching funds for On My Way Pre-K students.
