Hurricane Sandy left a path of devastation and destruction along the East Coast. As animal lovers, many of us are concerned about pets of evacuees and other animal victims of the storm. Thanks to your support, the ASPCA is able to respond and provide relief in those areas most affected by Sandy’s impact.
All New York City evacuation centers allow families to bring pets, and the ASPCA has been working closely with them as well as shelters on Long Island to care for more than 400 evacuated pets. Our field team is coordinating animal relief efforts, and we’re distributing crates, food, litter and other supplies for thousands of animals throughout the region.
