We are setting out on a journey to improve ourselves in the hope that through our journey we will make a positive change in our community and our world. We want you to join us on this journey of self-repair, personal growth, and discovery.
On Selichot, this year, Temple Israel Akron is hosting a workshop rooted in Jewish values and designed to help us engage in mindful reflection and to build meaningful relationships with each other. This workshop will provide its attendees with the tools to
- Live More Mindfully. Mindfulness allows for a person to obtain awareness of his or her feelings, emotions and surroundings. As you gain an awareness of self, you are better able to cope with stress and listen to those around you. As a result, you are better able to interact with your environment and the people you encounter.
- Develop More Meaningful Relationships. Feeling connected to our community in a meaningful way fosters a positive and supportive environment where all members of our community can thrive.
- Explore Our Relationship with God. As we begin to enter the new year, join us in a conversation and study of the traditional Jewish idea of the 13 attributes of God.
Our workshop will feature sessions led by local experts in the fields of meditation, mindfulness, and yoga.
As we begin our journey into this new year, we want our community to join us. Our goal is to offer the workshop to 100 members of our community without charge. Your donation will help us reach that goal!
