Thank you everyone who has donated! Landon's service dog has been officially paid for!

Landon was born 7 weeks early with his twin brother. We did not get to hold Landon when he was first born as he was rushed off to the NICU for a full evaluation. After 24 hours, we finally got to hold our sweet baby boy! Landon had some feeding issues and needed to be fed through an NG tube and also had apnea bradycardia.

After 30 days, Landon was able to come home and join his brother. He still needed to be hooked to an apnea monitor and was on caffeine to control the bradycardia. Landon was doing amazing for the next 2 months till we noticed he wasn’t using his right arm or leg. After having an MRI, it showed Landon had a hemorrhagic stroke on the left side of his brain causing significant volume loss and weakness to his right side. Although Landon can run and walk, his legs get tired very quickly and lose his balance and causing him to fall. Landon is starting to notice he can’t keep up with his brother and peers as much as he tries and tends to keep to himself.

On December 24th, 2017, Landon started having uncontrollable seizures. He was then diagnosed with epilepsy. Landon’s epilepsy has gotten significantly worse over time, lasting longer and longer, and his rescue med is not working. Just recently Landon had to be placed on a breathing tube due to the cluster of seizures lasting for 3 hours.

Lastly, Landon has been recently diagnosed with Autism. He has a hard time self soothing and will scream and cry for as long as 45 minutes in addition to self harm. He has trouble in crowed places and sensitive to loud noises.

Landon is a sweet, silly, brave, and motivating little boy. Having a seizure alert dog will alert us when Landon is having a seizure. This will help Landon gain a little more independence and a little peace of mind for mom and dad, especially at night! Landon will also be able to use the service dog to help him move around when he is feeling off balanced. Lastly, the service dog with help soothe Landon when he is having a hard time calming himself down and finally have a best friend he can always count on when he is feeling alone.
