Voting by mail is an easy way to protect the safety of yourself and your neighbors. 📬Â
The ACLU of Nebraska has worked hard to get vote-by-mail applications into the mailboxes of every registered voter in Douglas and Lancaster County ahead of the coming municipal elections, which are crucial, but have historically had low turnout. (Read more about their efforts!)
We know that every reminder a voter gets about voting increases the likelihood that they'll fill out and turn in a ballot. We'll be following up on each of the 295,025 vote-by-mail applications we worked with the ACLU to send to ensure they make it back to the Election Commissioner's office. At $0.06 per text message, this will cost just under $18,000. We know Nebraskans believe in democracy, and that's why we're confident that we can make this effort 10% grassroots-funded by raising $1,800 from Nebraskans like you.
