Corner of Love is a growing international mission that has been serving Nicaraguans since 1992. Today we care for refugees who are resettling in Costa Rica due to the socio-political crisis that began in 2018 that has caused over 500,000 Nicaraguans to flee the country. At our Relief Center near the Nicaragua-Costa Rica country line, we care for more than 30,000 refugees annually by providing medical, dental, and optical care, hot meals, transportation for displaced families, and many other basic needs like shoes, clothing, backpacks and educational supplies, and bibles and prayer. All services are 100% free to any person seeking refuge in Costa Rica. 

Each year we host dozens of healthcare teams who serve on six-day trips and staff volunteer clinics visited by refugees in need of emergency services. Corner of Love is open daily to vulnerable people and charters buses so refugees living in extreme poverty can visit the Relief Center from cities across Costa Rica. Among those who come to receive help are Venezuelans, Cubans, Haitians, Sudanese, Angolese, and other nationalities. Volunteer participants can apply to join a team at www.corneroflove.org. 

Aside from our Relief Center for Refugees located in La Cruz, Costa Rica, Corner of Love also carries out mobile medical missions in rural parts of the country, actively supports people in danger in Nicaragua due to the ongoing repression, and makes visits to other countries where both Nicaraguans and Venezuelans are arriving in high numbers. We have worked in Honduras, Panama, and Cucuta, Colombia to bring aid to refugees settling in those nations, and also shined a light on the current migration by acting as a Civil Society Representative to the Organization of American States (Washington, D.C.).

Corner of Love is a Christian organization led by a native Nicaraguan who has twice been forced into exile, in 1983 and 2018. For over twenty years we worked in Nicaragua where we built numerous community buildings, drilled wells, and operated a sizable clinic at La Lima River in San Ramon, until 2018 when we had to relocate to Costa Rica because of Nicaragua's paramilitary violence, which is still ongoing.
